Commercial Technical Specialist

SEDE: Elche
TIPO: Permanent contract, full time (3 months trial)


As a commercial Technical Support Engineer, your mission is to contribute to increase profit through provision of appropriate technical solutions for our services and to support the BD activity in technical matters from time of identified leads until contract signature, in a fair and business ethical matter.



  • To perform Customer Launch Services feasibility studies, such as performance, trajectories, coupled load analysis, accommodation volume, safety, on ground service es, competition, satellite life duration, payload compatibility etc.
  • To contribute to the User’s Manual preparation (MIURA 1&5) and Interface Control Documents (ICD) with Customer Payloads.
  • To support in the preparation of the launch service agreement (LSA) and statement of work (SOW).
  • To contribute to the preparation and presentation of PLD Space commercial and technical proposals.
  • To perform continuous monitoring of the technical progress of ongoing launcher development programs to be reported to customers.
  • To participate in the preparation of compatibility agreements between MIURA launch family and customers or platform providers.
  • To support in launch campaigns collecting relevant customer information concerning the implementation of the launch operations and flight performances.
  • To provide customer support related to questions payload integration requirements.
  • To coordinate with Business Developer for prompt and correct delivery of materials.
  • To Evaluate the resources impact and contribution to economic evaluation (effort and equipment).
  • To contribute with the Communications team in creating marketing material, and strategic communications.

Competencias requeridas

  • Relevant experience in aerospace industry.
  • Capacity to understand technical constraints relative to payload integration.
  • Solid presentation and technical writing skills.
  • Very good communications skills in Spanish and English.
  • Ability to directly interact with PLD technical staff.
  • Teamplayer, with flexible work practice and ready to accommodate unforeseen customer needs and situations.
  • Business and customer-oriented mindsted.


Required knowledge

  • Master’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline – Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace degree.
  • 5 years of experience.
  • Good understanding of space launcher and rocket technology such as:
    • Basic space dynamics: orbits, altitudes, inclinations, etc.
    • Satellite operations.
    • Aero thermodynamics.
    • Fluid mechanics (High temperature and pressure fluids).
    • Aerodynamics and aero loading.
    • Environmental conditions and phenomena for rocket payloads.

Competencias valoradas

  • Knowledge of other languages (French as preference).
  • Practical experience with different payload separation systems.
  • Knowledge of export compliance requirements (ITAR and EAR).
  • Previous launch vehicle or satellite integration hands-on experience.
  • Relevant experience with different payload and launch vehicles end to end mission cycle.
  • Significant experience in system mission analysis tradeoffs between payloads and launch vehicles (regarding performance, trajectories, coupled load analysis, payload accommodation, on ground services etc.).
  • Proficiency with mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and CAD assemblies.
  • Driven and with the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic work environment
  • Ambitious, results oriented and self-confident combined with a high capability of understanding complex scenarios and to identify the key steps and actions
  • Ability to explain complex engineering concepts in simple, effective terms.
  • Technical experience combined with strategic thinking.
